Pet Care Tips

Remember the saying, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?” Well, it applies to pets, too. Don’t skip your pet’s yearly exam. It’s much more expensive—and risky—to treat illnesses than to protect against them.

Volunteers Needed

Sumpter TWP Country Fest May 24-28^th 2012

BAARC will be setting up a booth during the festival to raise money for our cause. We need volunteers to help run the booth and to walk in the parade. The parade will be on May 26^th and will start at noon on the corner of Sumpter and Judd Roads and travel south to Dunn Road.

Belleville National Strawberry Festival June 15-17^th 2012

We will need volunteers for the booth on Main St. and the parking lot on Davis St, June 15, 16 & 17. We would also like you and your pets to walk with us in the parade on Saturday June 16^th.

Sign-up sheets and time schedules for both events will be posted when they become available to us. Please contact us if you would like to be in one or both parades. (734-707-8124)

February 11th meeting

On February 11th, Saturday, Belleville Area Animal Rescue Center held an informational event describing what it's primary function to the surrounding communities is and what it's future goals are. The event included a raffle for a donated 4 foot Mars/ M&M figure and a drawing for a door prize of 2 suite tickets to a Red Wings game that were donated by Waste Management. The winner of the " M&M guy" was Tresa Territo (accepting the prize is her father Pat. The door prize winner was Gloria Richards.

Strawberry Festival Parade

BAARC members and their dogs walked in the Strawberry Festival Parade on June 17th. The Belleville and Van Buren Township communities got to see that we are an enthusiastic group who want to make a difference for animals in this area.
